Well, even if you need to upgrade those, there’s a chance you can keep a lot of your old stuff. And is she anywhere near truthful about the CPU not fitting? I think compatibility and technological limits of your old hardware would be the biggest hindrance. I’d like to think that the “don’t fit” was her just dumbing things down for kids, but with pretentious phrases like “planned obsolescence”, I highly doubt it.

There are also people who will take your obsolete electronics for free and recycle them for you. Also you can sell the computer to someone on craigslist who is too poor to afford a new computer and doesn’t mind working on an older computer. If you’re just throwing away a perfectly operational computer after a year, you’re an idiot. Its also not as simple as just throwing electronics in the trash. My garbage company won’t pick up items like that and will fine me if I try to mix it in with garbage

hell, the avg federal employee pay is $72k/yr, avg teacher pay is over $47k

and that 1% owning 95% stat is bogus and ive heard it before

“the wealthiest 25% of US households owning 87% ($43.6 tril) of the wealth in the United States” (Fed Reserve)

and the households with debt in US has fallen by more than half in the last decade from somewhere around 9% to about 4%
