i do see flaws in … i do see flaws in her video but capitalism is the only way if you ask me we need a socailisem not hitiler one but a modifed one that is a combo of demorcracy and socailthism so like canda anyway thats what i think [sorry i have bad spelling]
i’ll resume this … i’ll resume this short in a phrase the video says: “if you believe that, then don’t (shop)” at 11:00
i personally liked the original video but am watching this to see both sides, the video did have flaws and incorrect information but can be useful if you are interested
Well, even if you … Well, even if you need to upgrade those, there’s a chance you can keep a lot of your old stuff. And is she anywhere near truthful about the CPU not fitting? I think compatibility and technological limits of your old hardware would be the biggest hindrance. I’d like to think that the “don’t fit” was her just dumbing things down for kids, but with pretentious phrases like “planned obsolescence”, I highly doubt it.
I lol at the … I lol at the computer part. That’s why every part, not just one, of the computer is upgradable. That is until the CPU and mobo become obsolete.
The fact is Annie … The fact is Annie Leonard may have infiltrated your child’s classroom and brainwash your child.
If she exposed my children to those (lies) I would figure out a way to take legal action against her and anyone else involved in the endeavor !
There are also … There are also people who will take your obsolete electronics for free and recycle them for you. Also you can sell the computer to someone on craigslist who is too poor to afford a new computer and doesn’t mind working on an older computer. If you’re just throwing away a perfectly operational computer after a year, you’re an idiot. Its also not as simple as just throwing electronics in the trash. My garbage company won’t pick up items like that and will fine me if I try to mix it in with garbage
Though I don’t … Though I don’t disagree with expanded government involvement in some areas (earned low income tax credits, for example), poverty is relative. Not to deny the hardships that many Americans genuinely face, but by world standards, the U.S. poor are relatively well-off, even when compared with the more regulated rich nations of Europe and Asia, who are doing pretty well themselves with a moderate version of capitalism.
But yeah, the debt is a pretty thorny issue. One made by the government.
Free market economy … Free market economy? Really? You can’t dispute that a large portion of the American economy and its monetary base has been ‘planned’ since at least WWII.
A cut and paste of … A cut and paste of what Stofke72 posted on the 4th video in this series:
“Only after the last tree has been cut down, Only after the last river has been poisoned, Only after the last fish has been caught, Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.”
and now the … and now the correction to your foolish statement-
2008 estimates of US public debt by the CIA Factbook and the IMF were 61% of GDP, about the same as major European countries.
Americans have the highest income per hr worked. The US is ranked second, down from first in ‘08-’09 due to the economic crisis, in the Global Competitiveness Report. The country is the world’s largest and most influential financial market.
US GDP $14.641 trillion (2008)
US GDP per capita $47,422 (2008)
(bea-dot-gov)
This woman is an … This woman is an idiot, Im not sure about the posters coments, but I hate this crap… “Throw out the hole computer” NO you fin UPGRADE IT! you cant do it… GIVE IT TO A PERSON WHO CAN AND PAY HIM!
you are not the … you are not the wealthiest nation in the world. you owe every dollar you have 10 times over. your denial is what keeps you from realising that you run in a system that cant sustain itself.
“…Think for … “…Think for yourself. Question authority… Think for yourself. Question authority…” With all the knowledge and intelligence that you have for your disposal you seem to be just a little bit too trusty as far as the good intentions of your government and too dismissive of the power of the ability of a few specialists to drive your (and our) attention and desires resulting in doing what they want while believing that these are our choices. (part 1/2)…
@dylanmartin as … @dylanmartin as technology improves over time as society grows then it will be easier and cheaper to use the new means of production. it takes time but it will happen.
phantastickyle dont … phantastickyle dont be a naive idiot, advertising is not information, I didn’t need to learn that at “government school”, because I learned it at college and did that for living.
Maybe the reason … Maybe the reason happiness went down in the 50s is bcause the left started to come up and whine about how we need marxism to tell us what to do. That certainly doesn’t make me happy.
@netherborn The … @netherborn The puprose of advertising is to inform the buyer yes! AND… of the difference between their products and their competitors. If I want to sell something I need to infrom potential buyers about the existence of my product and its benefits Vs other goods on sale. Other wise few will buy it.
But that’s okay, you were never taught these concepts in gov schools.
I mean, wow Mr glasses do you ever leave your home, watch tv, look around, does it seem like information? Oh right, you’re not that stupid are you, you are just promoting your cause with whatever means.
Well you’re wrong … Well you’re wrong on many accounts as is that lady promoting her views, yours are even more delusional imho.
Planned obsolescence is part of capitalism and nothing ensures the competition stays anywhere and unions are rendered useless in the face of globalization, this temporary, but it’s still here.

yeah, that is what …
yeah, that is what “per capita” means…. per person
duh?
and i know a lot of people that make over $47k/yr
hell, the avg federal employee pay is $72k/yr, avg teacher pay is over $47k
and that 1% owning 95% stat is bogus and ive heard it before
“the wealthiest 25% of US households owning 87% ($43.6 tril) of the wealth in the United States” (Fed Reserve)
and the households with debt in US has fallen by more than half in the last decade from somewhere around 9% to about 4%

how much does it owe to the federal reserve?
