It’s time for me to place an online order of good story books for my 2 year old. What are some favourites suitable for early readers (and older). I’m also interested I’m finding some illustrated factual books suitable to read and look at with my daughter. All suggestions would be highly appreciated. Local libraries do not carry children’s books in English unfortunately.
"The Gruffallo" and "The Gruffallos Child"
"Guess How Much I Love You"
"The Very Hungry Caterpillar"
"The Pig in the Wig"
"We’re Going on a Bear Hunt"
"The Snail and the Whale" (I’ve never read this one with children but have heard it’s good)
"The Tiger Who Came to Tea"
"Dr xargles book of earthlings"
"Where The Wild Things Are"
Any books from the "Little Princess" range.
I’m afraid I can’t really think of any factual books suitable for toddlers, especially as I don’t know what subject you want them on.

The Three Little Pigs
It’s my sons favorite because it is a pop-up book and he just likes the story. We read it daily.
He also likes
all the Dr. Seuss books
Bibble Stories
Love You Forever this was my favorite as a kid and he likes it too.

My little ones love anything Dr. Seuss!! "Oh the places you’ll go" is my personal fave, but they think they’re all hilarious. And there are some books in a series called "first encyclopedia" (we have one about animals and one about the forest or something) and they’re filled with pictures and the wording is all factual but written in a way that kids can understand). My oldest child particularly loved those ones (she’s nearly 8 now, but when she was younger they were her favorites).
Good luck!!!

Books that have repetition in them are really like by children. For example, there’s a book called, "Ahh! Spider!" It’s about a spider who really wants to be somebody’s pet and he keeps trying to live with a family, but every time they catch him they kick him out. Every time they kick him out they yell, "Ahh! Spider! Out you go!" Children love those books because they can participate with them. There’s another one called "Caps for Sale" that’s similar.
