I don’t understand these antagonists. Don’t they realise that opposing people’s right to read these books makes them want to read them more? I want to read these now. It seems these groups are mixing the words interesting and controversial.

  11. jerohare Says:

It is truly a sad day in America when a book can be banned or challenged for having supposed “homosexual” themes. These special interest groups that pull this crap make me sick.

  18. ticks4ticks4 Says:

    My mom and stepdad …
My mom and stepdad wanted to get Cliff Notes banned from students and have “mere possession” when enrolled as a student a “criminal offense”!
My mom even told my high school English teacher that I was “cheating” with Cliff Notes. The teacher asked “how so?” My mom’s response: “because he [me] has a copy!” The teacher informed her that what cheating was and that I was not cheating and that she [teacher] herself had a copy and knows when students are “cheating”. My mom was pissed!

  19. ticks4ticks4 Says:

    Perhaps a book can …
Perhaps a book can be “banned from the **curriculum”–ESPECIALLY for private school–for public school (curriculum)–and perhaps even prohibited from bringing to school (if it causes disruption; or illegal for age (e.g. even not allowing 18-year-old high school students to bring, say, to their high school campus, since minors attend there)—but **anything** can be challenged, up to the Supreme Court, right?
So it would depend on the “type” and “extent” of the banning, right?
