Unemployment ...
Unemployment decreased 0.1% and the market rallied. Look at the difference between U3, the gov.'t stat used, & U5/U6The rate is increasing like it did during the 30's. The gov.'t doesn't include underemployed and the bigger issue is they don't include "Discouraged Workers". The Civilian Labor Force decreased 422,000 (July 09) according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The majority of that stat are people who are "Discouraged" so they are no longer considered part of the supply of labor.

I am reading The ...
I am reading The Mystery of Banking by Murray Rothbard after I read Ron Paul's Revolution book. He didn't recommend this book, but he did recommend America's Great Depression written by Rothbard. I had already read that one so I decided to find another book by Rothbard.

Yeah that is a ...
Yeah that is a valid point.

Unemployment also doesnt acount for the masses who stoped looking for jobs.

Unemployment rate only quantifies the millions recieving unemployment benefits.

I wonder what the the Real unemployment percentage is?

I'm reading "War is ...
I'm reading "War is a Racket" by U.S. Marine General Smedley Butler. Back in the thirties the oligarchy tried to enlist Gen. Butler in a coup against FDR. The records have been destroyed of Gen. Butler's testimony in Congress. FDR said, "Now, now, my rich friends, play nice."

The only way the ...
The only way the unemployment rate could go down with the loss of 300,000 jobs, is if a lotta people died or retired...or just weren't counted anymore.

I never trust percentages. Too many variables.
