I have to write a story tomorrow in English, with the theme of action adventure!! I have nothing!!! i only have 45 mins to write so has to b short! but any inspiration will be great!! settings, characters, plots anything!! am desperate!!!!!!

you can write about the zombie Apocalypse, and a girl and her two best Friends who are trying to stop the invasion and save the world by using their awesome wizarding skills which they learned from Hogwarts, and then they go and meet up with some vampires, and they kill those bitches, and then they save the world!!!!!!

How do you come up with a plot for a story? And how do you develop on your plot? May people have different ways of coming up with story ideas I just want to know how you do it?

I go with the basic outline of any story:

Take a likeable man, put him up a tree, throw rocks at the man, and then get him down.

Then I expand:

What makes this man unique? What conflict is he facing? What is he trying to accomplish? What are his motives? How will he reach his goal? What kind of terrible things will prevent him from reaching it? How will he overcome those obstacles? What does he have to give up in order to obtain his goal? How does he change after the ordeal?

Then I fill in the missing parts:

What does the man look like? What is his antagonist like? What motivates each man? How are they connected?

and so on.

All in all, figuring out my main character is the first step, which I do mostly in my head. The hard part is formulating a story and getting it onto paper. But once it’s on paper, I’m set.

What is the most cliche love story plot, or sci fi or action or anything else.

What’s the most cliche beginning, or ending?
I mean a plot like,
for a love story it’s cliche to have the boy and the girl not like each other at first and fall in love. I mean 500 days of summer kinda broke through that but still.

Or like for example its very cliche for a sci fi book to have like the world ending or something.

For romance, they hate each other and then end up falling in love.

I have basic story ideas. But I feel a major weakness is my plotlines are dry and too linear just not that interesting. I think I end up trying to compensate with too much character development and it just becomes messy.

What’s the best way to develop plot twists or interesting turns?

I think one of the best ways is to know how you want the story to end. Plan how you want to solve the conflict, and don’t stick with your first idea it’ll be the readers as well. Make a list of all the possibilities no matter how stupid some of them are write them down until you can’t possibly think of any more. Then read them over thinking of how some of them can be elaborated and how they can fit together, eliminate the ones you don’t like.
With this creative ending thing of how you’re going to get there. What you can through at your reader to make them not expect it. Think of what they have to do to get to that point that is the climax. And what you can throw at them on the way. Look at character interactions through in sweet moments, possible combo even if they’ll never happen. Drama and feelings play a part have a friend get made when the other needs them most. Create characters just to create problems.
