How do the endings of "Star Food," "Everything That Rises Must Converge," and "The Bet" reflect what might be considered incomplete story arcs?
this paper is due tonight please help!!!

Chekhov’s short stories are just that – short stories. You can’t tell someone’s whole life story in a short story so yes, they are slices of life. If you read his novels, he does indeed stay with his characters through the long haul.
But is a short story an incomplete story arc? By definition, I think it is not. It is designed to be a piece of life – not a full chronological resume.

this is only a passage from my story, (its not all about this woman)
I am 13 and I wrote this by myself. Thanks:)

We pulled up to her abandoned appartment, it looked a lot different from when I was younger. The paint was chipping, the blackberry and raspberry bushes were gone from the front of the aparment building, the neighborhood was dirty and grungy looking. We climbed the worn stairs to her old room to to find whatever my dad needed from the old building.
I wasn’t very close to her. I only met her a couple of times but I liked her. She was different, spunky, young, but she wasn’t very mature. Once I spent the night at her appartment when I was young. We watched movies, ate salty, buttery, popcorn, painted our nails even though at the time I didn’t wear nail polish, it was a regular old girls night out. I loved it, But my mom was angry that my dad had let me go without her permission. They fumed over the subject for a few days and didn’t talk much for awhile. I remember going to Renee’s house because my dad had to pick up something from her apartment, and I snooped into her attic. There was a door that lead outside to a small balcony that fit about two people my age, I was claustrophobic and didn’t like tight spaces so I tried to leave but the door was jammed, I pounded on the door but I could hear my dad and Renee having a conversation in the other room and they couldn’t hear me. I shouted to the neighbors that were outside, and started to cry in frusteration because I wasn’t loud enough. But finally someone from the lower part of the appartment heard me and stomped upstairs to complain to Renee, and they found me sobbing loudly on the balcony.

Good language, and mood. But check your grammar and punctuation, because there are a lot of punctuation errors. I like the idea. It is very gripping, I’d suggest changing some of the wording around because it is a little awkward in some places. But otherwise, you sound like you really have something good.
