Im a teenager(13). Im at a stage were i’m obsessed with greek mythology and i was wondering if there are any good book that i might could read or stuff online like short stories? I can read big words big i’m not a adult! Thanks

The best reference site for greek mythology as a whole is http://www.theoi.com/ . It gives full description of each Greek mythological figure directly from the literary source. http://www.greek-gods.info/ would give you full info about the gods.

In terms of books, I recommed the books "Mythology" by Edith Hamilton, "Greek myths" by Olivia E. Collidge, and "The Complete Encyclopedia of Greek Mythology".

The book "Gods of the Greeks" by Carl Kerenyi is undoubtedly the best reference book about the Greek gods. However, it’s targeted mostly for serious mythology hobbyists so some words can be really deep and confusing for starters.

Are there 7 books ? My son’s book order shows 7 sets. I don’t know if that’s a complete set from beginning to end or not. My son is in 3rd grade and is 9 years old. Would the Harry Potter books too hard for him to understand ? I’m trying to decide if I should get it for him or not.

9 is a good age to START. But, be warned, read slowly, because the last three books are meant for a little older, I’d say 10 or 11-15.

I started at 9, and tried to read the Deathly Hallows around 11, it was terrifying, (I read it 2 years later and LOVED it), but 9 was definitely a great age to start.

I have found that there are several movies neverending story 1, 2, 3 and some movies called tales from the neverending story. how many neverending story books were there ? How many of these movies are actuly based on the book or books

There was only one true neverending story novel, as for the movies. the first movie is loosely based off the first half of the book, it differs quite a bit from it. As for the other movies they just used the same characters and premise but were NOT based on the book.

I like books, but I don’t enjoy the lack of sleep that comes with them. Can anyone recommend a book filled with short stories so I don’t have to stay up until one in the morning to finish them?

Read The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, or Mama Day by Gloria Naylor. Both are excellent.

I want to write a short story, but I have writer’s block. Does anyone have a request? I mostly write fantasy, teen fiction, romance, action/adventure, supernatural, and I am open to gay/lesbian. I want some one to write something new, here is three plot ideas I’ve been toying with in my head for a while:

Plot 1: Write a comedy about a straight guy who has a gay harem.
Plot 2: A story about a voodoo witch, her preserved corpse of an undead husband, and the zombie apocalypse.
Plot 3: A retelling of Beauty and the Beast with more horror elements than romance.

I am writing a short story for my university’s student publication, but I’m confused by the length requirements. They call for manuscripts of 4 to 5 pages, but don’t give formatting preferences or word counts. I’m thinking I should use 12 pt Times New Roman, double spaced, 1 inch margins.

Go for 2000-4000 words, and with a short story you generally skip the beginning and jump right to the middle. There isn’t enough time for a beginning most of the time, so you go right into what you’re writing about. Of course, open it nicely.

Back a few years ago I read this one short story where a girl runs away from her family. After a while she returns but finds her family doesn’t recognize her because her family really never got to understand her or even get to know her. And also because other girls have come back pretending to be her.

If anyone could tell me what story this is, that would be wonderful!
