okay so it didnt all fit in the top so heres the rest of the question…..
How do the endings of "Star Food," "Everything That Rises Must Converge," and "The Bet" reflect what might be considered incomplete story arcs?
this paper is due tonight please help!!!
Chekhov’s short stories are just that – short stories. You can’t tell someone’s whole life story in a short story so yes, they are slices of life. If you read his novels, he does indeed stay with his characters through the long haul.
But is a short story an incomplete story arc? By definition, I think it is not. It is designed to be a piece of life – not a full chronological resume.
Critics often say that Chekhov’s short stories show “slices of life” rather than complete story arcs.?
Tips for writing a series of short stories about the same characters?
I enjoy writing, but I have never been able to finish a story. I think that if I try to write a short story, or a series of short stories, I may be able to finish them. Also, if I do write several short stories I can later, if I decide to, put them together to make a longer book. What do you think? Have you ever read more than one short story about the same character. Do you have any tips or suggestions?
I think that’s a great idea! And yes, there is one amazing series like that, it’s called "The Night World" by L. J. Smith (author of "The Vampire Diaries". It is very many short stories, all in the same "era" or "rules" or whatever you want to call it. What I mean is, all the stories fit together. There isn’t all the same characters in each one, but they mention them and it all fits together, or lets say a smaller character from one of the mini stories would be the main character in another. I love that so much, because then you get everybody’s perspective, or learn more about them. You should try reading "The Night World Volume 1", I think it would really help you and give you some ideas for your stories!!!
Hope I Helped !

How can I sell my short stories online for extra income on the side?
I have a lot of short stories of science fiction, thriller, horror, and detailed porn. I want to sell them on the internet and don’t know where to start. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
If you knew that you could write one story every week, you could start a subscription website. Visitors pay you $10 in advance to get a password to enter your site. They would have a story ready for them every week. You could even make it a novel in 52 chapters. Just 100 subscribers would get you $1,000 a month. You might even get discovered and start publishing.
How can I stay focused on one story long enough to finish it?
I jump from story to story. I’ve tried outlining but after writing the first chapter I move on to another story outline. Any tips? Thanks.
Old Uncle Dave- My attention is not on my tv.
Yeah, I do that too. If you can’t stay focused on it, it’s not a good story. When you find a good one, you’ll WANT to finish it. Keep trying. Good luck.

What is the most cliche plot of a story?
What is the most cliche love story plot, or sci fi or action or anything else.
What’s the most cliche beginning, or ending?
I mean a plot like,
for a love story it’s cliche to have the boy and the girl not like each other at first and fall in love. I mean 500 days of summer kinda broke through that but still.
Or like for example its very cliche for a sci fi book to have like the world ending or something. ![]()
For romance, they hate each other and then end up falling in love.
I have to write a kids story for math?
I know writing a story in math is kind of unheard of but, I have been assigned to do it so… please no answers like "you have to write a story for math?" My story has to cover the concepts we have done so far. We have done the multiplicative counting principle, counting permutations using factorials, combinations, odds, dependent and independent events, venn diagrams, and probabilities. Does anyone have any themes or ideas for the story I have to write?
write a story on a guy who gets his asshole cleaned but then he fucks his grandmother then a fucking killer slices his neck and fucking puts him in the oven then hitler comes and takes a shit on all the jews kids would love it. and you can even have hitler come to your house and kill all the fagget ass jews for a demonstartion its great for kids to see jewish people get killed cuz polacks, jews and niggers all suck cock so yeah,i recomend that is your story and at the end of the story you can make a women get a dildo shoved into her pussy and scream OOOHHH! children love that kind of stuff! i finegr my self to lesbo sex all day long so it will defitnatly work for the little jewish bitches.

Do free ebooks undercut sales of print books?
*** All that effort spelling out the lulu url and I got it wrong! To buy a copy, pls point your typewriter to http://www.lulu.com/awkwardly
Melinda’s comments about the phrase “white trash” were spot-on. I’m just continuing the argument that giving your book away as a free download is more helpful than harmful for your sales of print books. (It would be cool if Amazing Atheist decided to try this. It’s uncool if someone pirated it and gave it away against his will.)
You can download the entire text of “Dungeons and Dayjobs,” my book of short sci-fi and fantasy stories, as a pdf file at http://www.archive.org/details/dungeons_and_dayjobs_anthology
You can also hear some of the stories like a free audiobook at http://dayjobspodcast.blogspot.com
Then after you’ve sampled some stories and decided it’s worth buying, send all your major credit cards to http://www.lulu.com/awkwardly
You can also look this up by title on Amazon, but it’s not available for sale through them.
